Hey 👋
The Early Bird and Supporter tickets go on sale tomorrow morning—at 8 AM Pacific on July 3 at lu.ma/sfrubyconf2025
Early bird tickets are $300.
Supporter tickets are $600 (Best if you’re comfortable with this price or if your company will reimburse your ticket. Your support truly means everything, as we’re running this conference for the very first time!)
Over the last few weeks, we’ve accomplished a lot (and worried about even more!):
We invited and confirmed amazing speakers—including legends like Obie Fernandez, Jeremy Evans, Mike Perham, Vladimir Dementyev (that one was easy!), and new open-source stars like Marco Roth, Carmine Paolino, and Justin Bowen. Here is the full list, which is frequently updated.
We opened the CFP (and Vova built a Rails+Inertia app for this, with plans to open source it later). The call for speakers and Ruby startups is live until July 13 at cfp.sfruby.com.
We secured our venue: the Gateway Pavilion at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. It’s a dreamy place, and I can’t wait for us all to share, learn, and inspire each other there!
The venue is spacious, open, and ready for our creative ideas—but also empty! We’re working with several vendors, with AV/Light/Stage/Production being key. As we try to keep the event affordable without huge corporate budgets, finding a feasible, quality option wasn’t a walk in the park. But now I feel confident—it’s all coming together. We’ve also started working with a furniture rental vendor.
Food is important! In addition to recommending great restaurants (one at the venue, others nearby), we’ve reached out to a very cool group of food trucks. If all goes well, they’ll park in front of our building and serve tasty lunch options! Here’s our little guide. Note: lunch is not included in the ticket price.
We’ve gathered new sponsors! In addition to Chime, bolt.new, and Gusto, we’re now sponsored by Scout Monitoring, Typesense, and Cedarcode. A few more are currently choosing a plan, which is great—but more work remains.
We’re building our team of organizers! The conference is organized by Evil Martians–Irina Nazarova, Vladimir Dementyev, Amanda Kinney, Yaroslav Lozhkin, Alexander Berdyugin, Victoria Melnikova, and more–and our friends: Cameron Dutro, Gary Tou, Rhiannon Payne, and others. The CFP Board includes Vladimir Dementyev, Maple Ong, Noel Rappin, and Cameron Dutro. We’ve also started gathering volunteers!
Call for speakers and Ruby startup demos is open at cfp.sfruby.com!
